Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks, July 23-24, 2009

We took a two-day trip to visit Yellowstone National Park on July 23-24, 2009. On the way we stopped at Paris, Idaho and Grand Teton National Park. Here are some of the photos we took:

Paris (Idaho) Tabernacle, July 23, 2009

As we drove through Paris, Idaho, we saw an interesting building, so we stopped and took some pictures:

We entered Grand Teton National Park from the south. Our pass was good for both the Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. The scenery was spectacular. In many ways the two parks seemed to blend into each other. We realized we were definitely in Yellowstone when we saw the mudpots and geysers.

The four tetons in the distance. The Grant Teton just left of center.

We waited and waited for Old Faithful to erupt, but it didn't happen.
Numerous hot springs and mud pots throughout Yellowstone:

Water on one side of the divide flows into the Atlantic Ocean; water on the other side flows into the Pacific Ocean.
It was a fairly quick trip.
